What’s a Berserker?
On the battlefield: A berserker is someone you did not want to meet! These ancient Norse warriors wore a wolf skin and would work themselves into a trance-like fury or rage before the battle. Said to be Odin’s warriors, they roared in a battle rage, went without mail armor, bit their shields and and neither fire nor iron could touch them.
In our exhaust systems: A berserke pipe is a muffler section that has no muffler, or a no-cat section of pipe that would normally have a catalytic converter. They are intended for off-road use only. They roar like the ancient warrior and you got to be a little crazy to use one.
Many off-road enthusiasts get a full exhaust system PLUS a berserker (no-muffler) pipe. We call this the Special OPs package. When they intend to go off road they swap out the muffler pipe with the berserker pipe. The change-over process only takes a few minutes. It involves undoing 4 flange bolts and one or two hanger fittings, switching the pipes and doing up the bolts and hangers.
